Alison Thewliss was elected to serve the people of Glasgow Central in May 2015. Since then, she served the constituency of Glasgow Central for 9 years, having been re-elected twice in 2017 and 2019. Prior to her election as an MP, she served as Glasgow Councillor for the Calton Ward in the East End. Alison was the Glasgow SNP Council Group’s spokesperson on Land and Environmental Services, and she takes a keen interest in improving local government and democracy. Alison lives in Glasgow with her husband and 2 young children.
Following the dissolution of Parliament in 2024, the Glasgow Central constituency was abolished and Alison is currently the SNP candidate for the Glasgow North seat.
